I gunkhole a boat and a trailer. They have non been on the road or the water since 97 and, I need to annals the trailer with a PA title. The previous title was lost. Besides in that location are no serial numbers on the trailer. How do I go almost registering it?

Have the previous possessor apply for a replacement championship.
If there's anything else that's legal I don't know it.

i did this with my erstwhile treailer sey that its domicile made. all i had 2 practise was go 2 the dmv with the treailer get them 2 cheque it out and u go a pinkish slip. pretty easy and if u practise have a license plat throw it away bechase they will accuse every year it wasnt rejisterd comes out 2 a lot of money if u dont...

In Florida, if y'all can evidence the last registration, or even have the last tag # that was on there, they should be able to verify what the vin # is. And then you can brand your own ID plate with said vin # punched on information technology, and mount it.

Or is it actually that easy in Cali?
In NC this is also fairly common (although alot of times it depends on the Highyway patrol homo that has to (legally) "audit" the trailer), alot of times this just ways watching you stamp the vin # they assign you lot on the tounge.
I have taken (an obviously factory congenital trailer) that I had to supercede the tounge on and chosen it homebuilt (information technology passed and they gave me a title).
Also (while not the legal way to do it), if the trailer has NO #'southward on it, if you own another trailer yous could use it'southward regestration/tag when you tow the boat... Once again, this is NOT a legal way to do it.

In Ohio all they need is a weight sideslip. I take a friend that used his old trailer's slip (after he sold the trailer) to get tags for his new trailer cuz he didn't want to become through the hassle of unloading gunkhole (& keeping it safe), driving to scale & picking boat support. This guy been using it for years, the state only wants their coin.

In Illinois, I simply took off any decals of the name make and then registered it as homebuilt. They and so assigned a VIN number that you lot stick onto the trailer. If it is nether 3000 lb load capacity, they don't even check it. Over 3000 pounds yous have to get it inspected.

I live in Pa , and yes , its a PITA. I posted an ad on Craigs listing for broken down trailer with Pa title....offered $25.00 and removal. Got a respond about a broken downward trailer , offered the guy $25.00 and cut his rusty old trailer upward in 1/2 an hr and he handed me the signed championship... good enough for me....

Thanks for the communication. I figured I would have to register as homemade. Information technology is for over 3,000 and does accept breaks on the axles.

I like that idea although I know tampering with a vin is a felony.....even on a trailer.

not exactly tampering with the vin,...I'll hold its a bit shady....but its done more than often than you may call back here in PA...

I simply had this prob with my escort trailor. im mass if y'all annals information technology as a trailor under 3000lbs you do not need a title even if it was titled already and has aq outstanding championship. Or if you say it was tour in NH which does non need a vin or championship yous are all set depending where you live. My boss buys and sells boats constantly and every trailor he says he got from NH.
